Due to the very high demands for video tutorials, as seen evidently in the increasing number of videos on YouTube, video editing is of great importance and very lucrative as well.

 Video editing is a the process of making a video look more professional than it was when it was initially shot/filmed using different tools to add enhancements and cut out the unnecessary parts.

 Video editing could take the form of; adding;

✓ music to the video, either background music or main stream. 

✓ brightness to videos. 

✓ text and/or icons to videos. ✓ intros and outros. 

✓ sound effects i.e the sound of a mouse clicking if you added a text of subscribe on your video

 or removing;.

 ✓parts that are unclear, blurred or not necessary as well as mistakes.

 There are various apps for video editing. You could get the ones for Androids/iPhones as well as that for systems.

Another way you can learn video editing especially for personal purposes is through YouTube Videos. You can search for videos on YouTube that teaches video editing and download them or stream them. 

Also, you could join WhatsApp classes; this could be either paid or free classes. It's more advisable to go for paid classes as you'll get more value since the teachers/ coaches would want to give you the value that matches your money so you are loyal to them and even buy their products in subsequent times. Prices for this class ranges from #2000 to #10,000 or more depends in whichever you come across.

This is probably the best way if you want to learn for commercial purposes ( resell the course, teach others, edit for people). In paid Courses, , you're told all you need to know to let you make money without video editing. That's why it's the most expensive of all. The good thing is that, you'll always get value that exceeds your money and you'll have access to some tools or resources that you're supposed to pay for ,free of charge.  Earning through video editing. 

There are several ways to earn as a video editor. 

1) You could be a freelancer and sell your services on freelance websites like Fiverr, upwork, etc 

 2) You could do jobs for individuals like Editing wedding videos, birthday videos, content videos for social media etn.

 3) You could blog about video editing. create a blog to give tips on video editing and with enough visitors on your blog, if you're good at it, you could earn through paid adverts on your blog or Google AdSense

 4) You could be an affiliate marketer. You could sign up as an affiliate for some of the softwares you use for video editing and then recommend these softwares to other people. You get to earn commissions when they make purchases for those softwares using your Link. 

5) You could sell the course on WhatsApp, Paystack or an E-commerce website. once people buy the course, you earn Money. 

6) You could sell ebooks on video editing. Write out your experiences, tips, mistakes to avoid and all into a book. Some points you could write about could be from the questions people usually ask you about video editing. Once you create an ebook, you could recommend this ebook to people and then sell it them, or place it on websites that people buy books from. 

7) This should be an icing on the cake especially for you as a video editor. And that is creating videos and uploading them on YouTube. If you're good, then this should be a gold mine you should be digging. A lot of people depend on YouTube for their tutorials. You could look up a few videos to get an idea of what people are looking for and then you create your unique content. You'll be surprised at the number of views you'll be getting. And if you meet up YouTube's standard for monetization, you could be earning through YouTube ads. Also you could also talk about your classes, ebooks and courses and affiliate products in the video and as well drop links to them in the descriptive box.
